Kathryn, do you happen to know how many calories they crackers amount to? An approx will do great, thanks! Bryan and I tend to have at a time because they are quite dense and filling.

I hope this helps! You can! I have a note at the bottom of the recipe card with some information for using almond flour. It will be a little more difficult to spread on the baking sheet but the crackers still bake perfectly crispy in the same amount of time.

Let me know if you give it a try! Thanks for your prompt reply. I actually tried and used almond meal and it baked perfectly well…. its also crispy, though it indeed is wet when i layered it in baking pan.

I tried lowering the temperature a bit to for a few minutes so it will dry then i turned it back to Thanks so much for sharing your recipe. God Bless. Good idea to lower the temperature for a bit to help dry them. Any issue with these? No you can use rolled oats! Quick oats absorb liquid and soften much more quickly so I love using them for overnight oats and many baking recipes.

After minutes of soaking time if there is still excess water in the mixture you can let the mixture soak a little bit longer to allow the rolled oats to continue to soften. If after minutes there is still excess water in the bowl you can pour that off before spreading out the mixture and baking your crackers.

Are the pumpkin and sunflower seeds raw or already toasted? Dying to try this out! And are hemp hearts and hemp seeds the same? Depending on how salty you like your crackers you can add a bit of extra salt to the tops of them before they bake if your seeds are raw or keep them pretty simple.

Hemp hearts are shelled hemp seeds. If you do have hemp seeds and they still have a hard shell on them, I believe they will be fine to use in this recipe they will just be crunchier. I hope you enjoy these when you give them a try! Keep me posted.

This cracker recipe sounds delicious and healthier than any seed crackers found in local stores. Can they be baked in an air fryer with the same success with adjusting the temp or cooking time?

Thank you. Others have mentioned using an air fryer to dehydrate these crackers instead of baking them. Sounds like a great recipe. Thanks, Christina. Thank you Christina! Others have mentioned using an air fryer to dehydrate these crackers instead of baking them!

This was my first attempt at making crackers, and it worked beautifully! Great advice about using a pizza cutter to cut them halfway through.

I used some buckwheat flour in place of flaxseeds and they worked a treat. Oh, great to know that buckwheat flour worked for you.

Thank you so much for letting me know you loved them. I really appreciate you taking the time to write a star review! Yes you can use chickpea flour! I heard from some others that they had tried that and it worked.

I recently tried it myself and it did work well. The mixture might be slightly more wet but you should be able to keep the ratios the same and it will work perfectly! These look so delicious!! Caring for an elderly relative and need to make a gluten free snack for them.

I think you could grind all of these ingredients and the cracker will still work. If anything, they might absorb water more quickly so if the mixture gets too clumpy to easily spread on a baking sheet you might just have to add a touch more water. Not having chunkier seeds will probably help these to bind and hold together even more!

Keep me posted! I have added nutritional yeast but otherwise no. You could probably dissolve some miso paste into the water before adding it to the seeds.

Let me know what you try though because these are so versatile you can definitely season them however you like! Your email address will not be published. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. Skip to main content Skip to primary sidebar menu icon.

Prepare two large baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Do not use wax paper as the crackers will stick! In a large bowl, combine all your seeds, oats, and spices.

Stir to mix evenly. Let the mixture soak for about 10 minutes to absorb the water and bind together. When the seeds have soaked up all the water, scoop the seed mixture onto your prepared baking sheets.

Splitting the batch between two sheets ensures crunchy crackers! Spread the mixture into as thin and even a layer as possible. Ensure there are no holes in the crackers. The thinner you are able to spread the mixture, the crunchier the crackers will be. Bake for minutes I keep mine in for After 25 minutes, turn the pans to ensure even baking.

This is also a good time to cut the crackers if you wish to have square crackers. I use a pizza cutter to cut the size of crackers I want. If you forget to cut them now, you can snap the crackers into more rustic shapes once they are cool.

Remove from the oven when lightly browned, firm, and the crackers are dry to the touch. Have you ever even heard of this? If not you're in for a delish surprise!

Plus… they might be my favorite COMFORT FOOD! Depending on what I put on them LOL! You probably have most of them in your pantry. Personally I buy the highest quality organic kind, but non organic will work too.

Sunflower seeds , pumpkin seeds , chia seeds , sesame seeds and flaxseed. I use regular sesame seeds as well as the black sesame seeds. I always start off with thyme. But rosemary , oregano or any other dried herb works well here. The seeds, especially the chia seeds, will absorb the liquid.

Any tips? They may have been not quite dry or completely cooled. I had that issue with my first batch. The second batch, I rolled out a little thinning and I ended up using a silpat for that one and that worked much better.

Hi, it kcal per one serving of one cracker? I think the recipe says there are 8 servings per recipe, so that would be more than 1 cracker! If you get, say, 40 crackers per recipe, 5 crackers would be a portion.

I hope that helps! These look delish! If you were to divide the crackers into 8 sections, each section is what the nutritional information is for.

I was hoping you could list the serving size for the nutritional information. Hi Letty — there are 8 servings in this recipe.

Hope you enjoy! These can also be dried in a dehydrator and not have to heat your oven. Especially nice if dehydrator is kept in a spare room. I found myself with an over abundance of seeds that I really wanted to try to use up, and these were the perfect solution.

I used the seasonings suggested except I used a bit more and topped the crackers with garlic salt as well. They did lose their crispiness within a day, but that was easily and quickly remedied by popping them in the oven at F for about 5 minutes, made them as good as new.
